Welcome back to Sister Louisa's Daily (G)rantings. Every day leading up to Easter Sunday, Grant Henry, owner of Edgewood hotspot CHURCH (it's a bar!), will provide us with one daily rant/affirmation. Check out the first installment here and second here.
All of this will lead up to Church's annual fellowship of the queers and weirdos - Easter Sunday Celebration - featuring DJ Vicki Powell with special guests, Mark Louque (NOLA/Ptown), Rich King (Snaxx/Easy NYC), and Bendito (Mary's ATL).
I KNOW THERE IS A BALANCE
I SEE IT WHEN I SWING PAST
Call me an idiot,
but I’m NOT worried
about the possibility
of an outrageous,
clownish Baf-fucking-foon
becoming President
of The United States.
I’m a parent,
o.k.,
I own businesses.
I’m almost sixty years old.
I’ve seen more
in my 22,000+
days on earth
than I care to remember.
I graduated from High School
before 69% of you little
butt-fuckers were born!
What I’ve learned
between raising a child,
being married to two women,
carrying on with “menses”,
having at least 66.6 careers,
150+ cars,
10+ houses,
and thousands of
barflies-out-the-butt
is that everything changes,
everything balances out.
When Mary Grace
was growing up
I’d see her taking baby-steps
into a direction
that raised an eyebrow,
but left to her own balance,
she figured out
that she needed
to step back
a step or two
to find her center.
At CHURCH,
when small changes happen
with the staff or customer,
as a result of someone leaving
or moving,
or they just aren’t “CHURCH”,
left to it’s own accord,
and the natural balance
of the business
will find it’s way
back to center.
There is no way in HELL
that the ridiculousness
in the political arena
that we are seeing today
is going to be the end
of the story.
No way.
It’s against the laws of nature.
As far to the right
as things have swung,
nature will swing
it back to the left,
in equal distances.
In fact,
we all should write
those crazy ass candidates
and thank them
for helping us
move the balance
a little more
to the center.
Just watch.
